Annabelle (4), and Cash (2)

Oh, the Reese Family….longtime favorites here.  Seriously.  I love Lori.  I love Daniel.  I love Annabelle.  And I love Cash.  Some of my very favorite pics that I’ve ever taken have been of these kiddos.  I have a huge canvas of baby Cash giving Lori a big, wet lick/kiss on her cheek hanging in my proofing room.

They are growing up so fast!  It was just wonderful to see them again, as usual, and I’m wishing them the very best in their new home!

Isn’t Life, and Facebook, amazing?

UPDATE:  Just got in touch with another very favorite former student, who is up in Boston attending Graduate School….I’m so proud of my former first graders!  Daria–you go, Girl!

Okay…so as you know (if you’ve read the “About Amy” page on my website), I was a teacher in my former life.  So now, all of those little first graders that I used to teach are grown up (yes, I’m showing my age—but in my defense, I was very young when I was teaching!).  Over the past few years I have run into some at random places like Starbucks or Best Buy and I’m always so surprised that they recognize me.  I mean, they were 6 at the time and I was fresh out of college.  It always, always warms my heart so much when they tell me that I made an impact on them and on their life and I’m glad that I was there then, even though I’m so glad that I’m “here” now.

So, my point (yes, I do have one)…last night I heard from one of my former first graders.  She asked if I remembered her.  Not only do I remember her, but she was one of my very favorite students ever (and that’s saying a lot because I taught for about 12 years total).  She found me on Facebook.  Amazing.

Now, she’s all grown up and a fashion designer here in Dallas.  And…for all of my moms-to-be and new moms…she designs Maternity and Newborn clothing, among other absolutely gorgeous designs.  So, if you want to see some really unique clothing, check out her website at

Lindsay, I cannot begin to tell you how thrilled I am to have heard from you.  I’m so proud for you of your accomplishments and your obvious talent.  I’m looking forward to us catching up in person soon!

Madeline, High School Senior

I had such a good time with Maddy the other day.  So many cute clothes, such a cute girl.  How could I possibly not get amazing pics?  It is so much fun for me to do Senior portraits and I think my seniors have fun too!

Baby Anthony, 4 weeks old

I had a wonderful time with this sweet boy.  He definitely was a wide awake baby…not the sleepy, bendy, under 2 weeks old kind of guy but, oh, did he have the best expressions! He is a very happy boy!

Of course, I can’t help but gravitate to those quiet moments:

Oh, look, guess who is wide awake again…

It has been a while since I got a good “hanging on the arm” shot:

Good times with nice people. Can’t ask for more than that in a job!

JoVaughn, 6 weeks old

Little Miss JoVaughn…a heartbreaker for sure!

But there’s nothing like some loving from Mama:

And, oh..the smile of a newborn–lights up your heart, doesn’t it?

Nathalie, high school senior

I can’t believe this is the same girl who was my very first model when I started my business 8 years ago…well, she’s all grown up now!

Fun family…

First, I want to say I’m sorry I’m so behind on my blogging.  We have a sick doggie at home and I’ve been to the vet or Emergency vet hospital 3 times in 4 days.  Between that and just keeping up with my work its been a rough week.

I had such a great time with this sweet family.  What a poignant session.  Their beloved dog is 15 years old now.  He is deaf–made getting his attention a little bit of a challange!-but what a sweetheart.  Their daughter is 21 and a senior in college.  This has been the family for the last 15 years.  Right now is a time of being on the brink of such changes.  Not that change is a bad thing…just that keeping a memory of “now” is so important.

There are so many great images from the session. I’m sorry I don’t have time to post a few more, but here is a little peek:

Baby Theo, 7 days old

I really enjoyed my session with Liz, Pavlos, and baby Theo–just 7 days old.  Yes, the newborn sessions take a long time.  It really helps to come in as early as possible.  The session will still take some time, but we’re more likely to get awesome pics like these:

What a face:

And we get the sweet curly body:

Mommy in love:

Dad is pretty taken with this sweet boy too:

A just a little more sweetness:

Velvet is one year old!

We’re at the end of Velvet’s baby plan year.  And what a wonderful year it has been.  The pregnancy session was so great and just laid the foundation for a wonderful relationship for me with Drew and Christy.  And then when Velvet arrived…what a wonderous time.  Over this past year, I have been so honored to document all of Velvet’s precious stages…curly newborn, chubby baby sitting up and crawling, and now a walking one year old–who loves flowers, bubbles, and jewelry!

Here are a few from our most recent session. First, the happy girl:
